Directory Information & Privacy

The online directory is a list of faculty, staff, and students in DEAS.The displayed information includes name, position at DEAS, contact info, andgraduate student concentration.

If there is information that you do not want displayed, you cancustomize what information you show and to whom it is visible throughour Intranet. You can also send your request towebmaster@deas.harvard.eduand we make the appropriate changes for you.

We can show different information to members of the Harvardcommunity. We would suggest that even if you do not want your contactinformation visible to outside website visitors that you allow it tobe seen by other people here at Harvard.

Email Addresses

Due to the increased problems with spam and the use of automated softwarewhich can grab email addresses from web sites, we show emails differentlyto visitors from outside of the university. Our obfuscation of emailaddresses is based on recent suggestions for protecting accounts from spamwhile still allowing human visitors to be able to get the information theyneed. If you have any questions about what we do and how it affects youremail pleasecontact us.

We are only responsible for the main DEAS website. Research groupsand other department web sites may also have your contact informationlisted. You will need to get in touch with the person in charge of thatsite if you that info changed or removed. However, we can try to point youin the right direction if you are unsure of who to contact.
