summer construction @ seas

Summer construction activities at SEAS will begin following Harvard's Commencement on June 5th.

* Pierce Hall, 2nd Floor. The main hallway will be renovated
(similar to the 3rd floor): new carpet and lighting will be
installed; the walls will be painted; and a dropped ceiling will
be installed.

* Pierce Hall, Room 209 (main classroom). The classroom will be
renovated and updated with new seating, woodwork, carpet, and a
state-of-the-art audio/visual system.

* Pierce Hall, 1st floor/back entry area. The construction of the
undergraduate engineering labs will continue throughout the summer.

* Cruft Labs, 3rd Floor. The 3rd floor of the Cruft Labs building
will be completely renovated. The Cruft elevator will also receive
a long overdue upgrade. Note: during construction, access to the
Physics Department via the 2nd floor bridge will be closed;
instead, all access will be routed through the first floor.

* Maxwell Dworkin back entrance/parking lot area. The Law School is
performing utility upgrades behind Maxwell Dworkin and the Hauser
Building. Note: This will cause the temporary elimination of some
parking spaces.

To minimize disruption, we have planned for most of the major demolition work to take place before and after normal business hours (i.e., before 9 a.m. and after 5 p.m.).
