Trainings

To attend in-person training, please be sure to have completed both the in-person orientation and the Machine Shop and Makerspace Safety-Soldering Required (EHS) online training.

Due to the high demand of trainings at this time, it is asked that you have a specific project in mind before signing up for in-person, machine training.

Level I (Sign-Up for In-Person Training )

*The training calendar is a 30-day rolling calendar. New training availability will appear each week.

This orientation is approximately 5 minutes. We will go over safety of the polymer casting room and how to operate the spray booth. This training does not cover how to perform polymer casting (silicone and urethane). This is not a foundry. 

In this training, you will learn how to the thread the embroidery machine and create an embroidered element. Approximately 45 minutes.

This training goes over the Heat Press used in conjunction with the Dye Sublimation Printer. This will be training for the user's specific project. Approximately 20 minutes.

In this training, you will learn how to safely operate the vertical bandsaw, the belt and disc sander, the scroll saw, and the compound miter saw. Approximately 45 minutes.

  • Laser Cutting/Engraving (watch video below before training, sign up link in the description)

Watch this 5 minute video to familiarize yourself with our laser process prior to training. Sign up for training here. In this training, you will learn how to safely operate the laser machine by engraving and cutting out a custom design. Approximately 45 minutes.

Desktop CNC (Carvera Air)

  • CNC training will require the use of Fusion 360 to design for manufacturing.
