Geometric Intelligence Inc., a machine learning startup co-founded by Doug Bemis, A.B. ’05 (computer science), was recently acquired by Uber.
The ride-hailing company incorporated the startup into its new research effort, Uber AI Labs, which seeks to use machine learning in areas such as self-driving cars, urban aviation, optimizing cities, and improving rider safety. Bemis, who had served as CTO at Geometric Intelligence since 2004, now serves as CTO of the Uber AI Lab.
