Stop 3 &4 Undergrad Tour
Stop 3: Welcome to the Undergraduate Lounge and student organization clubhouses! SEAS concentrators and SEAS-affiliated student organization members come together here to work on extracurricular projects or simply to hang out between classes socializing. Take a look at our Garages, adjacent to the lounge, and daydream about what BIG things you could build there as a SEAS student. Don’t forget to open up the dedicated storage lockers where you can grab a piece of swag!
STOP 4: Welcome to the Instructional Design and Fabrication Shop. The Design and Fabrication Instruction Team works closely with students and faculty to help support specific course initiatives as well as personal projects. Our services include safety training on all of the equipment in the shops as well as basic to comprehensive instruction on the operation of each machine. There are two Instructional Fabrication Machine Shops accessible to SEAS students, faculty and staff. One is located in the Lyman Laboratory at the Cambridge campus and the other shop is stationed in the new SEC building in Allston. These state-of-the-art facilities house a variety of high precision fabrication equipment. These spaces provide an ideal learning environment for students as they actively participate in transforming their two-dimensional designs into three-dimensional reality.
