Zauzmer uses math to predict Tony Award winners

Ben Zauzmer, A.B.'15, (applied math) has used a mathematical model to predict the winners of this year's Tony Awards.

Zauzmer, who writes for the Hollywood Reporter and works as a baseball anaylst for the Los Angeles Dodgers, began using mathematical modeling to predict the Oscar winners while he was a student at Harvard University. This year marks the first time he has applied his techniques to the Tony Awards, which air on Sunday, June 12 on CBS.

Zauzmer successfully predicted that "The Humans" would win best play and that "Hamilton" would win win best musical. Overall, Zauzmer successfully predicted 17 of 24 first place awards.
