Marie desJardins, A.B. ’85, (engineering and computer science), has received the Outstanding Educator Award from the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AAAI/EAAI).
The award was created in 2016 to honor a person who has made major contributions to AI education that provide long-lasting benefits to the AI community.
DesJardins, dean of the College of Organizational, Computational, and Information Sciences at Simmons University, was honored for “leading the AI community in cultivating and recognizing advances in AI education, sharing pedagogical advances, increasing diversity, and improving K-12 CS teacher preparation.”
