How to Declare
Declaring a concentration is an exciting time for undergraduates! Students intending to declare the Energy, Climate, and the Environment A.B. on the Science and Engineering for Sustainable Solutions Track (ENCE - SESS) should follow the steps below. Students interested in declaring any of the other ENCE Tracks should reach out to the advising contact for that Track.
- Review the Concentration and Track requirements in the Harvard College Handbook for Students
- Draft an 8-semester plan for all of the courses you plan to take to fulfill your degree requirements
- Fill out a Plan of Study form for the ENCE - SESS Track:
- Submit your Declaration of Concentration request on my.harvard (instructions can be found in the my.harvard FAQ)
- Select "Energy, Climate, and the Environment" from the concentration drop-down list, then select "Science and Engineering for Sustainable Solutions" for the Track
- Meet with the Director of Undergraduate Studies for the ENCE - SESS Track. During the meeting, you'll discuss your propsed plan of study, and once it is in order, the DUS will approve the Plan of Study form.
- Prof. Zack Schiffer (Director of Undergraduate Studies for the Science and Engineering for Sustainable Solutions Track of the Energy, Climate, and the Environment concentration)
- Please plan to contact the DUS early to avoid the rush!
- After the form has been signed, the DUS will use the my.harvard tool to officially accept your concentration declaration and upload the approved copy to your "Reports and Documents" section
- Celebrate!
