Participant Experience
Learn in a way that works for you
At Harvard SEAS Professional Education, every program is designed to help you engage with timely ideas, build practical skills, and apply what you learn to the challenges that matter most to you and your organization.
Our portfolio includes learning experiences such as on-demand online courses, live online programs, in-person programs, and custom programming for organizations. While each offering has its own format, schedule, and learning objectives, every experience is grounded in the depth and rigor of Harvard SEAS research and teaching, adapted to the agile needs of today’s professionals and lifelong learners.
What to expect from Harvard SEAS Professional Education
Our programs explore emerging technologies, engineering, computer science, data science, artificial intelligence, sustainability, and other areas shaping the future. You’ll learn from Harvard faculty and instructors who bring current research, real-world case studies, and practical insights into the learning experience.
Flexible Formats
Choose the experience that best fits your goals, schedule, and learning preferences:
- On-Demand: Learn at your own pace through flexible digital content, activities, and resources designed to support independent learning and continued exploration.
- Live Online: Participate in real-time sessions with instructors and fellow learners. Engage in discussions, ask questions, collaborate on activities, and learn from a diverse community—wherever you are.
- In-person: Join us on campus or at another designated location for an immersive learning experience that may include lectures, workshops, hands-on activities, group work, and opportunities to connect with peers.
- Custom: Organizations can work with us to develop learning experiences tailored to specific goals, audiences, technologies, or challenges.
Learning with and from Your Peers
For live online and in-person programs, interaction with peers is an important part of the experience. Participants bring different backgrounds, industries, experiences, and perspectives to the learning environment, creating opportunities to exchange ideas and learn collaboratively.

From registration through completion, our team works to make your experience clear, engaging, and well supported. Depending on the program, participants may receive:
