Peer Concentration Advisors (PCA) Program

PCAs serve as peer advisors for pre-concentrators (and current concentrators), providing a valuable perspective and helping students to discover additional resources and opportunities.

If you would like to be matched to a PCA, you can do one of the following:

  1. Reach out by email to a PCA with similar academic, career, or extracurricular interests by exploring their bios below.
  2. Get paired with a PCA by filling out the Find my PCA Google Form. While we recognize some students might know exactly what they are looking for, we are happy to help pair you. 

Michelle Chang (Co-Captain)

Hello! My name is Michelle, and I’m a senior in Winthrop studying Biomedical Engineering (A.B.) with a secondary in government! My interests primarily lie in tissue and immune engineering. Specifically, I am fascinated by how we can utilize various biomaterials as tissue mimics to manipulate the phenotypes of different cells in our immune system. On campus, I have worked with cancer immunology at Professor Rashidian’s lab at Dana Farber, and currently, working on immune engineering at Professor Mooney’s Lab at the Wyss Institute. Additionally, I am also part of Brigham and Women’s Medical Career Exploration Volunteer Program, allowing me to volunteer in different departments. Outside of classwork, I can usually be seen dancing with the Harvard Crimson Dance Team or the Harvard Contemporary Collective. In my free time, I love exploring coffee shops and watching law and crime documentaries! Furthermore, I have considered both a MD or PhD, so I am always happy to chat about any of my experiences or anything you may be curious about! Feel free to reach out!

My name is Thomas King (he series) and I am a Senior in Kirkland concentrating in mechanical engineering. In 2024, I spent a summer with the Volpe Center (part of the DoT) researching train collisions. In 2025, I worked at Electric Boat where I worked with fluid systems for the US Submarine Fleet. My primary extracurricular in college is Choir. In my spare time, I am a recreational scuba instructor, amateur runner, and avid DnD player.

Hello all! I’m Ashley Redhead, a senior studying Electrical Engineering (S.B.) with a strong interest in computer architecture, hardware systems, and the intersection of engineering and entrepreneurship. This past summer, I interned at Mastercard in their Strategy Consulting department. I’ve also worked on chip quality and redesigns as an engineering intern at Northrop Grumman and previously contributed to generative architecture research with Harvard’s Edge Computing Lab. On campus, I currently serve as the Director of the Harvard Undergraduate Consulting Group. I’m also a member of the Men’s Club Volleyball Team and am passionate about early-childhood literacy. I am super passionate about startups, one of my favorite classes at Harvard has been ENG-SCI 94: Entrepreneurship and Innovation. I am happy to chat about courses and different career pathways, especially non-traditional engineering pathways: consulting, startups, or product roles. Also, I recently picked up a DJ set and spend much of my free time making music.

Hello! I’m Aryenne Ysabelle Rodrigo, a junior in Cabot House studying Environmental Science and Engineering (S.B.). This summer, I’ll be conducting research through the Program for Research in Science and Engineering (PRISE) program and traveling to the Dominican Republic with Harvard Engineers Without Borders. Our team is working with the community of Los Sanchez to help provide reliable access to clean drinking water. On campus, I conduct research in the Sunderland Lab on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) contamination. I also serve as the Cabot House coordinator for the Resource Efficiency Program under the Office for Sustainability and teach telescope classes through STAHR at the Michael Loomis Observatory. In my free time, I enjoy taking care of my indoor plants and going on food trips with friends. I'm both a FGLI and international student from the Philippines, so if you’re figuring things out far from home or trying to find your place in ESE, I’m always happy to chat about my experiences or anything at all!


 

Audrey Cheng

Hi everyone! My name is Audrey, and I’m a senior in Lowell studying Mechanical Engineering (S.B.) with a citation in Mandarin. I’m primarily interested in mechanical design and I enjoy working on projects that explore the intersection of engineering and art. Last summer I conducted soft robotics research on campus as a PRISE fellow at the Clarke Lab. I took a leave of absence this past spring semester and have been interning at a local company in my hometown of Jacksonville, Florida, which I will continue through the summer. Outside of academics, I enjoy sculpture, ceramics, and various fiber arts. I’ve taken classes with the Ceramics Program, done technical work on theater productions, and served as a board member for the Asian Student Arts Project (ASAP). I volunteer with the Chinatown Afterschool Program through PBHA and have spent time abroad with Harvard Taipei Academy. I’ve also worked as a CA and ARC tutor, and I’ve assisted with a cross disciplinary sculpture and engineering research project through the Radcliffe Research Partnership program. Hello! My name is Jiani and I am a senior living in Leverett House studying Bioengineering (S.B.) on the chemical and materials subtrack. Currently, I work as an undergraduate researcher in the Mitragotri Lab, where I am developing an innovative process for fabricating a new cell therapy treatment for cancer. I also serve as president of Harvard iGEM, a student-run synthetic biology research group. I am deeply committed to promoting diversity in STEM and work closely with Science Club for Girls, a local Cambridge organization that brings free STEM education to elementary school girls from underrepresented backgrounds. I serve as a volunteer mentor and Harvard Mentor Chapter Co-President for the Harvard Mentor Chapter of the organization. Outside of the scientific world, I am a student brand ambassador for Kaplan, an exam prep company. In my free time I love reading, listening to music, and watching Christoper Nolan movies. Hi! My name is Sarah and I'm a junior in Quincy studying Mechanical Engineering on the S.B. track with a secondary in Computer Science. I'm primarily interested in applying my training to medical devices and work somewhere in the biotech/medtech industries. I was working at the Slade Lab for the past year helping process motion capture data, and I'm working at the Traverso Lab 4 Translational Engineering over summer 2025! I've been CAing for Math 21a and Math 21b so you may know me from those classes or MQC. Outside of engineering related activities, I'm a design exec for The Crimson and can usually be found drawing or sketching something in my free time, and I'm volunteering with Y2Y this summer! Hi! My name is Ishika, and I'm a junior in Lowell studying Bioengineering (S.B.). I'm particularly interested in medical devices and health technology, and I currently research muscle velocity measurement using ultrasound in the Harvard Biodesign Lab. Previously, I explored organ-on-a-chip systems to simulate the blood-brain barrier at the Johns Hopkins Institute for NanoBioTechnology, through the REU program. I'm passionate about building community among engineers at Harvard—as co-president of the Harvard Undergraduate Engineering Society (HUES), I strive to create spaces that encourage connection and collaboration. When I’m not in lab or at office hours, you might spot me in line at SEC Flyby, “studying” in Lowell Dhall, or speedwalking to a morning class. I love reading, eating meals with friends, and riding public transportation. Armando Patiño

Hi everyone! I’m Armando, a junior in Mather House studying Bioengineering with a secondary in Computer Science. I’m passionate about the intersection of data science and biology, where computation drives real impact.This summer, I interned at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, building pipelines to study transcription factors, super-enhancers, and omic data. I also developed machine learning tools to analyze CRISPR-based gene expression. Last summer, I explored software engineering through an externship with Citadel | Citadel Securities. On campus, I’ve been involved in communities that celebrate identity and innovation. I’ve served as Treasurer of RAZA (Harvard’s Mexican cultural group), Head of Fundraising for SHPE, and Operations Associate for LiFT. I’m proud of my Mexican heritage and care deeply about representation and inclusion. In the Karczewski Lab at the Broad Institute, I help analyze large-scale genetic data to better understand variants that cause disease. Outside class, I work for Harvard Student Agencies (HSA) under CDE, help coordinate first-year intramural sports, and give Spanish-language campus tours. I enjoy staying active, meeting new people, and helping make Harvard feel like home. Most importantly, I’m here for you! Hi!! My name is Shivi, and I'm a senior in Leverett House. I'm studying Bioengineering (A.B.), with a secondary in Energy & Environment. I'm really passionate about using engineering as a tool for developing solutions to climate change and human health challenges. I’m also interested in public policy and bioethics, and would love to chat about approaching engineering at Harvard in an interdisciplinary way! On campus, I’ve been an undergrad researcher for three years. I’ve worked primarily on cancer drug delivery methods, first in the Weitz Lab, and now in the Aizenberg/Mazur Labs. I’ve also researched bio-inspired materials to combat urban heat islands. This past summer, I interned at Boston Children's Hospital, where I studied stem cell applications in cardiology. I have experience securing research funding, and I'm excited to help you do the same!! Outside of research, I've been a Physics teaching assistant, a REEF Makerspace Fellow, and the past president of the Harvard Undergraduate Clean Energy Group (HUCEG). Recently, I also worked with fellow campus organizers to launch a Climate Education program through the Salata Institute. I'm happy to talk about the engineering, environmental, and research communities here on campus! Hello! My name is Guadalupe Vázquez, I am a Mexican-American, FGLI student. I am a Junior in Currier house concentrating in an S.B. in Environmental Engineering with a secondary in Ethnicity, Migration, and Rights and I am also Pre-Law, interested in immigration or environmental law. I am interested in Agriculture and Sustainable Food systems. I am currently in the Huybers working under Mike Foley to help in the efforts of building the first publicly available global database of agricultural yields at the municipality level. This summer I am also a Civil Design Engineering Intern at Christopher B. Burke Engineering Ltd. near Chicago, learning more about work in Engineering firms and using Microstation for the projects CBBEL designs. On campus, I am the President of Mariachi Veritas where I play the violin and sing and I also love running and traveling. Adam Wang

Hiya! I’m Adam Wang, a senior in Dunster House studying Bioengineering (S.B.) on the Electrical subtrack with a secondary in Computer Science. My interests include everything from genetics and bioinformatics to computer architecture. I’m most excited by translational medical applications; this, in part, convinced me to hop onto the premed train during junior year. I’ve done research throughout my time in college, and I’m currently part of a cardiology lab at the Harvard Medical School Genetics Department where I analyze single-nucleus sequencing data. Outside of classes, I’m part of the running club, do theater tech with the Harvard Radcliffe Dramatic Club, occasionally attempt graphic design, and have danced (clumsily) with the Asian American Dance Troupe. Hey, y’all! My name is Emma Kate, and I am a senior in Leverett studying Mechanical Engineering (SB) with a secondary in Astrophysics. I am from rural Missouri, and I love hiking, kayaking, and just being outside! My career interest lies in aerospace, and I intend to work in rocketry research and development. In the past couple years, I have worked at Boeing as a Systems Engineering Intern and conducted crop growth, water testing, and additive manufacturing research. Next summer, I will be working at SpaceX (Starlink) as an Engineering Intern. On campus, I am a board member of Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and on the propulsion team in the Harvard Rocket Propulsion Group (HRPG). I am also a member of Student Astronomers at Harvard Radcliffe (STAHR) and AstroSoc. Beyond STEM, I direct Kesem Harvard Undergraduate, a camp and year-round support system for kids whose parents have cancer, and edit The Ichthus, a campus publication. This fall, I will be studying abroad at Oxford, where I will be reading engineering and rowing with the Oriel College Boat Club (OCBC). I am happy to chat with you about studying abroad, pursuing an astrophysics secondary, searching for internships, or anything else about which you are wondering! I also work a couple of jobs during the semester, so I am available to discuss balancing work with school.
